Current Snow Total

It's 3:30 PM and I just measured 10.5 inches of snow on the back porch. It's still comming down.

Pre-Halloween Snow Storm

Like clockwork, Halloween is this weekend and we are getting snow. I took the dogs out around 8 this morning and there was about 6 inches. It's now after 3 p.m. and there must be at least 8. The driveway is cleared and Joel is threatening to buy a snowblower if we get more snow like this! At the least we need another shovel!

Happy white Halloween from Colorado!

NO more peas, please!

So, we thought we'd try the green foods this week and start with peas. A co-worker (Eloe) said to buy the canned baby peas and puree them ourselves. Joel did the honors. Luckily he didn't puree the whole can! We got a good laugh out of this one! Peas are obviously not as tasty as sweet potatoes!

One more cute hat photo...

Gavin's first Halloween!

We didn't get to the pumpkin patch like we had planned but Joel went out and got a few pumpkins for the annual party! Gavin posed in the backyard with his pumpkins! We went down to Denver to visit Katie, Jay and my buddy Zach. I have carved pumpkins with Zach since he was about 6 or 7 - he's now 14! He still insists on calling Gavin "Laser"! We had a fun time visiting and carving pumpkins. Everyone enjoyed playing with our happy baby. Val gave Gavin a fun little knit hat - amazingly he didn't try to pull it off! JB and I also dressed up with Lobster G. Joel was the scruffy fisherman and I was the chef. We'll take more shots of Gavin in his costume this week!

A few fun photos!

Gavin "eating" an apple

I thought I'd have an apple the other day and hold Gavin at the same time. Gavin had other ideas - he wanted the apple. I handed it over. We got a good laugh!

Uncle David comes to dinner!

Gavin asked Uncle David over for dinner last Thursday! Uncle D didn't realize he had to feed Gavin his daily mush-sweet potatoes-before he got his dinner! We also tried Gavin's Halloween costume on - but it was too small.

Anita and Stefan visit from Germany

Joel's former co-worker and friend from IBM and her husband and two kiddos are in town visiting. They stopped by tonight for dinner. It was great to catch up with them. Haven't seen them since they moved to Germany 4 years ago! They now have an almost 3 year old and a 10 month old. It was fun to watch Gavin interact with other kids!
