Daycare was closed for a long weekend so we thought we'd take a vacation of our own. We went up the hill to Estes Park and stayed at the YMCA. It was great! Besides a light spring snow on our way up, we had a great time. We stayed in a two bedroom cabin, with kitchen and indoor plumbing. Gavin and Trevor shared a bedroom the first night. We put them to bed and sat in the living room listening to them chatter back and forth - Gavin would talk to Trevor and Trevor would respond in his baby noises. It was pretty entertaining to listen to. That was the only night they successfully slept and slept in the same bedroom for that matter!
We woke up to snow on the ground. Luckily we brought our winter clothes. We were located near the park, craft center and indoor pool. A short walk away and we could visit the horses and another small park. We brought Gavin's balance bike and he rode it everywhere. Trevor enjoyed being strapped into the front pack on our walks. We didn't move the car all weekend - it was great.
There was cool weather the entire weekend, which was a nice change from warm temps in town. On our way back down the hill we were all dressed a little too warmly! Uncle David stayed with the dogs for the weekend. He did make the comment that the house got down to 61 overnight and he was a little chilly. It was a warm week prior so we had the heat turned off - he promptly turned it on once he realized the problem!

Gavin is a character!
He doesn't smile at the camera much anymore but I thought this was a good one! He's wearing his favorite tie dye shirt. Trevor has a matching onsie that Gavin insists he wears on the same day - mini me!
Trevor photos!
And then a fun video... I inherited my videography skills from Grandpa Marty!

What we do when daddy is on a business trip!
Every once in a while daddy has to go on a business trip. In April, he went to Miami for a few days. Here are a few photos of what the wee ones do while he is away...
Party at my house - dad is out of town!
Hey, at least I have underwear on at the dinner table!
Let's take a photo for dad while he's enjoying the humidity of Miami!
After a big dinner, I like to lay down on the couch and eat stuffed animals for dessert.
Grandma Joyce's Visit
Gavin helped prepare Grandma's coffee every morning - after he had his morning milk!
Trevor getting ready for his birthday celebration.
Grandma watching Gavin paint sun catchers.
Trevor and the birthday cake!
Mmm. Is that ALL for me dad? No Trevor, just this "little" slice. "Bone tight Trevor"
This is the best dinner mom has made in a while. Oooh, I can smash it into my tray too. Fun.
I can put cake all over my head while I try to take this silly hat off. Oh mommy. Look at this boat - it's all mine!
Trevor's Birthday Week
April 23 - Gavin had his first dental visit. He was excited by the kid-friendly office, the fish tank, big patterns on the floor and video games! He let the hygentist clean his teeth, after showing him the water tool - she let him spray the wall. He didn't want to let her get rid of the extra toothpaste so he held on to it until the dentist arrived to check his mouth! As a parting gift, he received a new toothbrush and a mini beach ball.
Grandma Joyce came to Colorado to celebrate Trevor's first birthday. Gavin woke up every morning and burst into her bedroom to make sure she was awake, check to see what she had hiding in her night stand and to have her read him a story. After that, Gavin helped mommy make Grandma a cup of coffee (mommy and daddy don't drink coffee so this was an adventure to get it just right for grandma!). It only took 7 days but by the time Grandma left, the coffee was just perfect! Gavin still looks up at the counter and talks about coffee for Grandma!
April 27 - Trevor turns 1! Our little peanut is a year old. Time flies. Trevor has 2 teeth, a head full of dark brown hair and loves to scoot around the house. He enjoys giggling at everything his big brother does and likes to knock down anything we build (legos, blocks and trains).
We celebrated Trevor's birthday at the house with dinner and chocolate cake with Grandma Joyce. Trevor enjoyed his first slice of birthday cake. He made sure to get it everywhere - his hair, the high chair, the floor - he even got some into his mouth. It didn't take long to realize why neither boy went down to sleep well that night!
April 29 - Trevor's birthday party. We had some friends and their little people over to celebrate Trevor's birthday. More food, more cake, more fun. Luckily it was a nice weather day so the little people could run around outside. Thanks to Derrick they were kept busy with t-ball, hide-and-seek and red light green light!
April 30 - Trevor's 1 year doctor's appointment. He is still in the 16 lb range but getting longer and head growing. He did a great job with his shots and stayed home with mom after the appointment. We took Grandma Joyce to the airport then to visit the gang at Children's. He was flirting with all the ladies - he sat on the floor and made funny noises. They made funny noises back. It went on for a while - everyone was entertained!
