Trevor turns three!

On Sunday morning the boys ran downstairs to see the kitchen decorated for someone's birthday. Captain America was sitting in Trevor's chair and Spider-Man was in Gavin's!

After breakfast, grandma Joyce and I took the boys to the Butterfly Pavilion. Trevor had asked to go a few weeks ago so why not for his birthday! Gavin held Rosie, the tarantula again. Trevor watched. We touched a live horse shoe crab and watched lots of fish in tanks. Then it was in to the butterfly room. Lots of fun.

After that we went out to lunch at 3 Margaritas! I got the waiters to sing and bring a sumbrero over, which Gavin wore while Trevor sat on my lap.

After dinner and ice cream cake, Trevor said it was time for presents! He tore into them like a pro! Super Heros were the highlight of the day!

Houston, we have a three year old!

Daddy's childhood toys a

Grandma and grandpa brought a car load of stuff over the summer when they visited. I'm convinced that their garage rafters are now cleaned out (right?) I finally got the last two boxes moved from the garage to the top of the basement stairs on Monday. The boxes are still there (Wednesday) and the boys were curious as to what was inside. Some of daddy's old toy trucks. I snapped off a few shots of the boys playing with real sturdy metal trucks! Daddy was telling the boys about his toys!

Gymnastics and Gavin

Trevor and I watched Gavin at gymnastics on Saturday. He has been enjoying class with Miss Devon since he was 2.5. He is in the 4-5 year old class and does a great job!

Captain Trevor-Merica!

He loves his new Captain toy from Amy and David.

First time in a winter jacket. Short lived but documented in photograph!

Birthday party

We had the boys birthday party at the painting studio where I work. 19 kiddos ages pre-3 to 7. Pizza, cupcakes and painting. The kids had fun and got to take their masterpiece owl paintings home with them. More photos to come!

The bicycling duo

The boys both LOVE their bicycles. Trevor likes to ride his Strider to and from daycare if it's above 40 degrees. Yesterday we rode over and I took a few quick videos of how fast they are on wheels! Gavin is ready to graduate from the little bike he is on. Trevor is very speedy on his Strider but needs a little more practice stopping (JCP portraits to come - you'll see what I mean then!). I got the boys new helmets for their birthdays last month. They wear them EVERYWHERE - in the car, playing in the sand box, around the house. Safety first as Uncle Neil says!

Talking and riding - not a problem!

(I finally loaded photos/videos from my phone to my computer so now you get to see videos!)

Gavin's Second Ski Day - First time on chair lift!

We went to Eldora again last Thursday. This time, instead of taking the magic carpet numerous times, Gavin saw the chair lift and asked about it. We were on the bunny hill so it didn't go too far up the hill. But we went again and again and again. He was hooked. We would get about half way down the hill and he would yell "Dive Bomb" which meant - Go straight down mom! He giggled the whole way down. Towards the end of our day he told me he wanted to try skiing on his own. We went to a slight incline at the bottom of the hill where he skied towards me a few times. He's getting the hang of it. We may try to go one more time.

Next year he will get lessons from the pros. He did however say to me the night before we went - Mom, you took lessons when you were little right? Yes, I said. Then you should be good at teaching me. The kid is smooth (he didn't really want to go to lessons!)
