Pizza Bruce comes for a visit!

 Uncle Bruce and Grandma Joyce
 Uncle Bruce and the boys

Earlier this week Uncle Bruce came out for a visit! We haven't seen him since Gavin was 18 months old and in a leg cast. Grandma Joyce was also visiting. She hadn't seen him since cousin Brad's wedding 5 or so years ago. We had a fun time looking at old photos and hanging out and talking. When the boys were home, they enjoyed wrestling and playing with him. I think I need to get all of the uncles in the same room at some point because Gavin called him Uncle Dick and Uncle Neil a few times. I might have to make flash cards! We had a fun visit and hope to see the west coast family again soon!

Daddy's birthday

For daddy's birthday, mommy and I (Gavin) decided to make him an ice cream cake. Let me take you back a few hours to our adventure at the grocery store to purchase supplies. Mommy picked me up from preschool and we headed to King Soopers with our list. I hopped into the cart and mommy drove. She drove us back to the bakery area where we watched a lady decorate a cake. I wanted some but she said No, we're making our own. So we went up and down the aisles and picked up ingredients. Then we went up the card aisle. I moved mommy around the rows of cards until she picked out one I liked. It was a singing card that cost $8. Mommy decided against it and got a Dr. Seuss card instead. We headed to the self checkout and the fun began. Mommy let me put each item on the magic scanner and the machine scanned and told us to put our items in the bagging area. We were finished and started to leave the store when mommy noticed we forgot to pay for daddy's card. Back in line we went. This time, instead of letting mommy press buttons on the key pad, I thought I'd help her. Before she knew what happened, the machine was talking to us in Spanish. I thought this was hilarious. I laughed and laughed and everyone was looking at me like I was silly. Mommy laughed too since she couldn't get the machine to talk in English again. She figured it out but it took a little while. I couldn't stop talking about it the whole way home. It was so silly!

We finally got home and started making daddy's ice cream cake. I helped and taste tested. I'm really good at that! We put the pie in the freezer. Mommy told me it was a secret and not to tell daddy. Hey, I'm three. You know what comes next. We were sitting down at dinner and daddy asked how my day was. Of course I had to tell him about the awesome ice cream pie mommy and I had made a few hours earlier. I'm not sure mommy will tell me any more secrets for a while!

The cake was sure good. Daddy did a good job blowing out the candles. Happy Birthday daddy!

Yes, there is a safety lock on the lighter. Mommy even has trouble using it!

Coloring at "The Tower"

"See Trevor, this is how we pick crayons and color in our book."
"See how I color Piglet purple Trevor. Trevor, are you eating my red crayon?"
 "Mmmm, yep, I like red!"
"Here mom, I'm done with the red, can I have another color?"
"Trevor lever, nice job on that elephant!"

Uncle Neil and Aunt Rebekah got the learning tower for Gavin after he was born. We use it just about every day. Trevor now enjoys trying to climb in and see what big brother is up to. He wanted to help Gavin color or really just eat a few crayons!

Eggs and Bacon

The eggs and bacon boys let me take a few photos of them on our way to the park one day. Here they are! You can't actually see the front of their shirts here but that's what's on them - egg eyes and bacon smile! Shirt twins as Gavin likes to call them.
