A quick hike at NCAR

We were looking for things to do outside before the last snow storm. We decided to drive up to NCAR (national center for atmospheric research) in boulder and walk around. It was overcast on our drive. By the time we arrived the snow had started to fall. We took a short hike, going a few pine cones, spotted a few deer then turned around. We went into the building and looked at some of the exhibits.

After, Gavin requested we go out to lunch. We went for Indian. Gavin paid his own way, at his request with a $5 that was burning a hole in his pocket. His meal was $4.99. He was very proud of himself and so were we.

Oranges from grandma

Each year grandma sends us a box of oranges from her tree. The boys are enjoying them. Yum.

Trevor goes skiing!

I took Trevor to Eldora (for the first time) this sunny 40 degree day on the mountain (60 degrees in town!). We rented the cutest little skis and boots. We parked in the first row at the beginner mountain and walked right up to the magic carpet lift (conveyor belt). It was a success. The 27 lb kid was easy to ski with. We did a few turns, then like gavin, he said "go fast!"  So down we went! We did 4 or 5 runs and he called it a day. He said he'd like to go again and was ready to go out for ice cream.

Unlike Gavin, who falls asleep the moment we head out of Nederland, Trevor talked the whole way home. Then when we were about a mile from the house he falls asleep. Now it's naptime!
